The booming of Indian economy combined with development of faster means of communication has inspired Indian Government, Corporate houses as well as individuals to look towards Latin America and Hispanic world as their partners. This new equation is based on the fact that India has the potential to grow as the fastest economy over the next 50 years. As per the estimates made by leading research organizations, this growth could be higher than five per cent over the next 30 years and close to five per cent as late as 2050. High growth means consumption of more raw materials and researchces and India will need to supplement domestic resources through sourcing from abroad.
One of the potential regions of focus is Latin America, which is blessed with abundant natural and mineral resources. Indian companies have already started investing in oil-fields, mines, forests and land. This has further added momentum to the development of diplomatic ties between India and Hispanic countries. Consequently, there is need to develop a research and training center that shall serve as a catalyst, impart required training and stimulate innovation.
